Roxtar Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 so, i've done some googling, but come up short... my google-fu is failing me. I have a set of early offset phone dials (came with the car) and a set of early offset cookie cutters... I want to use the lighter set for my track-day rubber. i'd weigh them myself, but the phone dials currently have tires on them and the cookies do not. Quote
Big Dog Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Cookie cutters are lighter than phone dials. Others may have an exact difference but, as I recall, it is about 2+ pounds!!!!!! Go with the lighter wheels, less rotating mass, faster acceleration and better stopping. Enjoy. Big Dog Quote
JerryW Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 Cookies are the lighter. Check on this forum or the 944spec.org one. There is a list of the wheel weights already done. Quote
Roxtar Posted July 6, 2009 Author Posted July 6, 2009 awesome... thanks for the help guys. the cookies will be my track wheels. Quote
pixrken Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 This is what I have for 15x7 wheels: Fuchs: 13.4 lbs. <-- Not 944-Spec legal. Cookie Cutters: 15.2 lbs. Phonedials: 17.5 lbs. Quote
Chuck T. Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 I have trying to get some low cost cookies for my new car but all I could find was a set of phone dials for $125 . Quote
Big Dog Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Cookies should be less expensive than phone dials, more of them and less desirable for street use. Come on guys, where is the love for Chuck? Help him before Nationals. Big Dog (on the heavy phone dials ) Quote
Roxtar Posted July 7, 2009 Author Posted July 7, 2009 got my cookies for just over $200 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320359192205 picked them up at the porsche swap meet in hershey. Quote
cbuzz Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 2+ lbs!!!!! Wow. Can't say I noticed a difference but then I was not really checking. I did notice that my RA-1's on Cookies at Infineon last weekend had alot of push, maybe the wheels were too light May not be a big deal with this low of HP. Quote

Yeah, they're getting harder to come by. I've had my eye out for another set for myself, but even the ones on eBay are going for too much money. I figure they're worth $200 a set, shipped. Quote
