skidoc Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Need some help on fuel consumption for size of fuel cell needed for AIX car at limit of rules HP/torque. Carburated 347 stroker. Would this change should I build an AIX car with 351 stroked? Looking at sprint races (30 min fuel supply with some reserve). Thanks in advance [email protected] Quote
National Staff Greg G. Posted July 7, 2009 National Staff Posted July 7, 2009 Sorry, I can't tell you the fuel consumption you will have, but remember to make the cell big enough for a 45 minute race. You wouldn't want to build a car that can't compete at the NASA Championships. Quote
skidoc Posted July 8, 2009 Author Posted July 8, 2009 Ok didn't realize nationals were 45 min races. Might run there someday. Looking for others fuel consumptions so hopefully I only buy one fuel cell. You know - measure twice and cut once! Quote
JWL Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 I would probably go with a 20 gallon cell or perhaps a 22 gallon cell. An AIX car at full chat will burn through a bunch of gas so I'd go big and see how it goes. Excess capacity is a good thing and if you find you don't need all the gas, you can simply not fill it all the way and save some weight. -JWL Quote
