Red Tornado Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 For those folks that missed Mid-Ohio you really missed out. We had folks from all over and even special talent imported from Florida. I think 15 folks took the start each day and great racing everywhere so if you want a championship level event with a big dinner evening before and great friends to run with come join us. We expect at least 10 folks from the Southeast alone and the field could easily be 25 cars between AI and AIX. Sign up soon before the event fills up and closes at one the countries top tracks. Quote
brucebyerly Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Dude, we're leaving our Florida trailer homes early on Thursday this time so we get there in time for the food and beer . . . Quote
b_tone Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 I'm in....then again my house is about 8 miles from the track. Quote
robbodleimages Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 I'm in. Going to run VIR next weekend to get comfortable on the R888's again. No more AIX on BFG's. BTW...If you can fit into a Racetech 4009HR standard width seat, I may have a seat for the Friday enduro at Road Atlanta. If you want to get some laps in early. Let me know. Quote
Micks 41 Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 See you guys there! -JWL You'll go to R. Atlanta but not M/O. Hell we even have the "Top Hat"! I see where GL region ranks. Quote
Members Patrick W. Posted July 15, 2009 Members Posted July 15, 2009 Florida will be represented. Bruce and I will be there along with a couple of FFR's. Mid-ohio was a blast. I forgot how much fun elevation changes can be. You don't see much of that down here! Apparently when you get Mid-Ohio's Madness wrong, Welders, Metal Strapping and lots of Duct tape are required to make the car trackworthy again. Since theese 2 races are so close together, those temporary mods may be more permanent for the time being Can't wait to run Atlanta. Patrick Wehmeyer #95 American Iron Quote
robbodleimages Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Hey Pat, Since you are coming from Bradenton to Road Atlanta, any chance you could bring a big ribs order from Mr Bones on Anna Maria Island up with you?? Quote
Members Jim P. Posted July 16, 2009 Members Posted July 16, 2009 We gave you all Prime parking spots overlooking the whole paddock! See you there! Quote
Members Patrick W. Posted July 16, 2009 Members Posted July 16, 2009 Those would be some cold ribs by the time we get to Atlanta. Besides, It's doubtful they would survive the trip once I get hungry about an hour in! Quote
robbodleimages Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 yea, but that place can also cast a voodoo spell on you if you eat somebody else's ribs, man. Quote

Mickey- I need some more economic stimulus prior to tipping the "Hat" again. Brutal. VIR next weekend to check the UTCC and Mid Atlantic and then some Southeast. robbodleimages Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 Ive heard about their tow vehicle issues. I thought they knew 48ft trailers needed more than a Subaru to pull them. Quote

Members Jim P. Posted July 20, 2009 Members Posted July 20, 2009 I have to put tape on my mirrors for the next time we run together. Every time I put distance on you I felt bad and backed off the throttle! Let me get my hip-waders - it's getting deep in here! Quote
Members Patrick W. Posted July 20, 2009 Members Posted July 20, 2009 Hey Panties, How about an AI roll call for Atlanta Pat P.S. I'm signing up today. Quote

If you want to get some laps in early. Let me know. I have gotten the enduro bug in the last year or so....how narrow of an ass do you need for that seat?! I got free flights and hotel rooms in reserve and would love to drive RA... Keep me in mind if you need a driver! I know you don't know me from beans but I have done 2.5 to 3 hours stints in and AI car and 4 hours in a lemons race and don't put tires off track or bend sheet metal. I would pass on our TWS weekend for that opportunity!! Quote

Members Ed M. Posted July 23, 2009 Members Posted July 23, 2009 Racers, Just letting you know that this event is filling quickly. The AI/AIX/CMC class is already pushing 20 entrants so far and I know of several other locals who always register late so it's definitely shaping up to be a healthy group. The Thunder Group as a whole is pushing 40 entrants and is filling fast too so I'm just letting you know that if you're planning on attending, PLEASE get registered to be on the safe side. IIRC, the cutoff for a race group at RA is around 60-65 entrants, so it's getting close. Also, as a reminder, the SE region starts applying late fees 10 days out and this is approaching quickly also. THIS IS GONNA BE A GOOD ONE SO DON'T MISS OUT AND HURRY AND GET REGISTERED! On another note, DeSalvo and I are planning a little cookout for Friday night so make sure you plan for that. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to PM me. See ya at Rd Atl, Ed Quote
Members Ed M. Posted July 28, 2009 Members Posted July 28, 2009 For all who are attending this event, make sure you bring a copy of your 2009 dyno sheet and include your weight also. At last check we have 14 AI, 4 AIX, and 3 CMC and I'm expecting a few more!!! This is gonna be awesome!! Thanks, Ed Quote
