Legends21 Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 (edited) I am getting ready to reseal my rear hatch to the frame. My car does not have the top "Trim Frame" (part #2 on the diagram) Anybody have one they would part with (cheap)? Edited July 30, 2009 by Guest Quote
Legends21 Posted July 30, 2009 Author Posted July 30, 2009 As a follow up to my request: Is this trim missing typically missing from your 944 Spec? Mine had some black racers tape over the top of the hatch glass. When it started to peel, I was going to refresh the tape and I found that the hatch glass had separated from the frame. I was not suprised, since this is a known issue with the rear hatch. Anyway, I am going to reseal the glass to the frame using a good urethane (3M) adhesive and I wanted to put the trim piece back in place. However, if everyone throws that piece away, I will rethink my plans. Please let me know. Dale Quote
944cer Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 I'll check tonight. I don't think mine has one so I didn't know it was missing. Lee Quote

Tim Comeau Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 Dale, You pretty much have to have that piece in place to hold the leading edge of the glass. The glass is supposed to be glued deep inside of that. If you look closely, you'll see small dimples near the leading edge of the glasss. These started life inside the front frame piece. It might be easier for you to just buy another used hatch. Quote

I now realize that I actually have the trim piece after all! I just have a separated glass. Thanks. Dale Quote
