05 Mustang GT Suspension question

Recommended Posts

I have a basically stock suspension ( adjustable front & rear sway bars ) on my 05 GT Mustang. Use is primarily road coarse DE ( Watkins Glen ) . Need specific damper & spring recommendations to reduce body roll during cornering . Grip is good now , not under or over steering . Car feels balanced - just too high

H& R RSS kit?

Eibach R2 kit ?

Thanks

Can run with most of the Porsches in my group - but cornering stability can definitely use improvement .

"Super Street"

The starter system. Includes the foundation to make a street-driven Mustang into a smooth riding Porsche killer. This kit was configured to give you incredible hookup and cornering performance. This system's focus is on the weakest link in the S197 platform, the rear suspension. This is the best place to start on your S197 Mustang and will give you a great foundation for future upgrades. Major components include Coil-Over Front Struts, urethane bushings and the GR40ST Rear Suspension. Installation is as easy as it gets with no welding required. Whether you drive your Mustang to work or in the canyons this kit is guaranteed to yield significant performance improvements

The Ford Racing kits are very good.

I went with the following dampers: http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=9738

I put them together with these springs: http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=10553 These spring only lower the car about 1". The M-5300-K springs for a 1.5" drop.

I used the Maximum Motorsports caster/camber plates.

Good stuff and adjustible!

handling is more and more about shocks and springs. i suggest you try Moton Club Sport reserve canister shocks and struts. They are coil overs. They are also a big step up from the Koni's and Biesteins you can get. They are more expensive but can be rebuilt for around $100 a tube. They will pay for themselves over time. They give you three ways to adjust each corner, plus ride height.

Next look at FRPP for the FR500C stuff. Control arms, sway bars, ball joints. Then get the FR500C steering rack. Big improvement there.
