cbuzz Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Great racing on Sunday. Steve and I had a fun battle for the lead. Lots of lead changes, traffic and some mistakes. I thought it was especially nice of me to miss the green flag. http://www.youtube.com/user/bajabuzz1 Quote
sagoston Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Thanks for posting your video. I would have posted mine but I unfortunately had a camera malfunction. Lots of fun trying to figure out how to get through lots traffic. I still have a lot to learn but at least I've learned what not to do on a green flag Quote
944-Spec#94 Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 what is up with the chicane in the infield after the tight right hander? Seems like you guys simply drive past the 2nd curb. Quote
cbuzz Posted August 18, 2009 Author Posted August 18, 2009 After the first day of NASA trying to police it they said we could just straight line it. This has been a problem since inception. It really needs a K-wall there to keep everyone honest. Cal Speed has a few spots that could use some refinement. Not a great race track IMO. Quote
Tim Comeau Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Hey guys, I'm sure that the reason there was no tire stack on the second part of the chicane after turn 9 was because NASA wants to see as many cars at Nationals as possible. The second tire stack is the one that eats cars if anything goes wrong, or if 2 @#$%^& idiots try to get thru at the same time, or if a faster car tries to squeeze out a slower car INTO the chicane. On Sat., they said you could put 2 wheels over, for Sunday, they gave up on trying to manage that small area. Quote
Tim Comeau Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Just watched all 3 video clips, Charlie. Good stuff. You OWNED Agoston! You made some nice moves that I'll add to my quiver of tricks. Steve really got tripped up in slower traffic a couple times. Great fun to watch! I was howling at the mistakes and cheering at the passes by both of you. I'd still want to use 2nd gear coming out of turn 9. Torque = 130 ft/lbs from 2500 rpm thru 5800 rpm, but HP is 20 greater for every 1,000 rpm after 4,000? Quote
cbuzz Posted August 22, 2009 Author Posted August 22, 2009 Thanks Tim, it was a really fun race. Steve is a fierce competitor that I wish to do battle with again. My drifting exhibition through T5-6 was fun but I did not finish that turn well. I will have to work on that. Luckily Steve caught traffic at the wrong time that gave me that lost track distance back. May not have caught him otherwise. I think So-Cal is going to have a strong showing at Miller. Saw the POC boys today at Laguna. I went up just for the day to visit and help Todd V. His car is back on track and looks good with new paint. Jim Richmond has his push problem straightened out and is learning to set up and drive his car again. Brad Actis was there and running strong. They had a field of 6 with some pretty close lap times.
