Mrsideways Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Title says it all. Would it be possible to do one class thursday/Friday and another Sat/Sun in the same car with different sized tires. I'm sure T&Sing would hate me.
minispeedrcr96 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Greedy Mini's Put some 275's on and sweep TTB or put on some nice street tires in 195 and drop down to TTE! Mini Domination.
kbrew8991 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Ken put me up to asking! 'cause I didn't know the answer the only time I've seen someone run two TT classes with the same car they were also different groups
National Staff Greg G. Posted August 24, 2009 National Staff Posted August 24, 2009 Guys, I'm not sure why neither of you have read the whopping two pages of rules in Section 15 of the TT Rules regarding the Championships. Ian, I suggest that you read them now, and re-read them the day before the event. All of those rules will be followed. Here is one part: Each driver may compete in a maximum of two TT classes (whether individually or as part of a team). If using a single vehicle, the classes must run in separate run groups. This may only be possible for a few vehicles to accomplish depending on the final published schedule of class and run group separation. If using multiple vehicles, each one must have its own transponder.
Mrsideways Posted August 24, 2009 Author Posted August 24, 2009 Hmm, I was thinking maybe since I would do it different days it might fly. I guess the answer is nope. Thank you,

kbrew8991 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 betcha $20 he says no after that rant he just put out
National Staff Greg G. Posted August 24, 2009 National Staff Posted August 24, 2009 betcha $20 he says no after that rant he just put out Uhh, no. and..... Uhh, no, to the first question also.
Mrsideways Posted August 24, 2009 Author Posted August 24, 2009 Well it was worth a try right. Thank you.
kbrew8991 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 so how do you define two separate vehicles - KB, who thinks with a 2nd transponder and creative use of tape....
AZELISE Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 KB and also you would have to sign up with a real name and a team name or two different team names. But I would say that the rule is in place to simplify policing the TT group and for T&S. Lets say you forgot to run with the other transponder and other number and had the up-classed tires on. First, someone would have to notice it and second it would be one more thing for the powers that be to change your classing on the records.
Mrsideways Posted August 24, 2009 Author Posted August 24, 2009 Well I don't know that wider tires would make it faster. I wanted to try it. Everyone jokes that if you put wider tires on a Spec miata they go slower from the resistance. Some Barn Door 275's sticking out would be kinda cool!
