clarklloyd Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Can someone clarify the rules concerning brake rotors in AI? Can you have slotted and or crossdrilled rotors on an AI car? I know the diameter maximum is 14" but I need to know about crossdrilling and slots. Thanks. LC Quote
Mystic_Cobra Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Cross drilled and slotted rotors are allowed. I don't think you'll find any manufacturer or racer that recommends drilled rotors for racing, but they're allowed. They just crack prematurely. Here's the rule for rotors copied directly from the rules posted on the American Iron site. . . 8.2 Brake rotor friction surfaces must be iron with a maximum diameter of 14 inches. http://www.nasaproracing.com/rules/2009/American_Iron_Rules.pdf Quote
