I bought this car with 20K on it. It has 102K on the clock now. Has been autocrossed 8 to 12 times a year and has maybe 1000 track miles from a few HPDEs. Have changed the oil regular with Motorcraft synthetic blend oil and Motorcraft oil filters. Comes set up the way I race it and also includes most of the original stock parts. Also included are four 17x10.5 cobra r replicas, two 17x9 cobra r replicas, two deep dish 17x10.5 bullitt replicas, and two 17x9 bullitt replicas. Bullitt wheels have Sumitomo HTRZ tires on them for street use. Cobra wheels have worn out V710s.

Faults: Engine makes a noise that sounds like timing chain or lifters about every 5th time you start it. Goes away within 5 seconds and doesn't do it every time. Been doing that without getting worse for 15-20K miles. Common with 2V 4.6. Paint has some faded areas and scratches. Very small dent by driver's side phony side scoop. (daughter backed into it with VW)

FWIW, that startup noise "fault" seems to be typical for SOHC mod motors (most likely a timing chain tensioner). My 2004 GT does it, my 2004 F-150 does it, and my parents' 2003 Saleen did it (however, my 2004 4.6L DOHC Cobra engine does not do it). Your symptoms match mine. Nothing turned up in any of my oil analyses, so I'm not worried about it if it's not putting metal into the oil. It's likely fine.

I've been looking for something with more power can you send some more pics to [email protected]?

Most of what I have are action shots or old. Post a list of what you want to see and I'll try and take them this weekend.

Here is a pic of the secret weapon home made watts link.

Everybody that rides in this car comments on how rigid it feels and how it corners like it's on rails. I must have hit the roll center perfect with this setup. I never even felt the need for sub frame connectors.

Thanks for the bump and boost of confidence Mark. I knew the noise was common but I'd never sell something that had it without being up front and telling a potential buyer.

how many point rollbar does it have? Can you post some picts of it?

Any idea what it would cost to ship to Oregon (97267)?

This is just what I am looking for, but I think the shipping will be too much

Thanks, Jim

It's got a zero point roll bar. In other words it has no rollbar at all.

To tell you the truth I wouldn't be comfortable with selling a car and shipping it unless the buyer came and looked at it in person.

Thanks for looking though.
