x_sgs_x Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 Hi I am new to this forum and I have a few questions. My overall goal has always been to drive a rally car. Due to lack of funds I have never got into racing. I just wanted to know how others here have gotten into the sport? How old were you when you got in the sport? Also any information that could help me out. Im in my last year of HS and I have no idea what I should do lol. Thanks. Quote
Trevor57 Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 I started Auto-x at 18. You can do it with no experience, as well as being able to drive any car without fear of doing any real damage. Get a good job, make money, and build/buy a race car. Quote
Weed Wacker Posted September 8, 2009 Posted September 8, 2009 I started when i was 17 going to track days and stuff. This track thats like 2 1/2 hours from my house called Gingerman has evening test and tunes during the week for only $60 for a ton of track time. Sometimes they do an all day thing on weekends for $150. It was a lot of money for me then but the auto-x thing never really got me excited... Its a great way to learn and for sure cheaper, just never really caught on with me. Quote
