cstreit911 Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Here is a video from the NASA GTS race at Gingerman this weekend. I cut out about 20 minutes from the middle... Just more chase. The track got very very greasy in the last 15 minutes to you'll see lots of correction. Wasn't just me, everyone noticed it. THe green was so early it caught us both by surprise. I've never seen a track get that greasy before.... It was more of a rally/drift competition by the end. I took 1st overall on Saturday. On Sunday the racing was much closer, but my data card glitched and I lost the video, really too back because it was an AWESOME race. Great to see you Great Lakes guys, it has been too long. Thanks to everyone for making it a great weekend! Quote
scottbm3 Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Nice job Chris. I wondered what you guys at the front were doing and how Jeff lost the lead. Too bad you lost your video from Sun. that was a lot of fun dicing it up with you and John and would have been nice to see from your perspective. I'm gonna try and get my video from Sun. Its a bit shaky, as I'm having a hard time finding a good place to mount the lipstick camera that isn't getting vibration from the car and messing up the video. And yes by the end of Saturdays race it was a slide fest !! I just thought it was from my less than adequate set-up and driving so hard to try and get as many positions as possible with my start from pitlane. Hope to see you guys at Putnam. -Scott B. Quote
cstreit911 Posted September 9, 2009 Author Posted September 9, 2009 Scott, Any thing you have would be great. SO bummed about losing Sunday's video, it would have been awesome to watch. I had more find dicing it up with you and John than I can remember in a long time. No quarter at any corner. It's funny, Saturday evening everyone was scrambling trying to figure out what was going wrong with tires, pressures, setup, etc.. untill we all realized that everyone was sliding around like a Rally driver... Then everyone just sort of shrugged. I tried lowering and raising pressues a few pounds and nothing worked. I was thinking tires were getting too hot, but that didn't seem to be the case, and pressures were spot on. Who knows, maybe the heat was causing some crap to come up from the pavement? Quote
John Graber Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Good stuff. I thought it was my set-up on Saturday, I had more saves than ever. Sunday was much better, had a few saves and a few misses. Good crew all weekend, just needed another 20 GTS cars. Quote
Enzo Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Nice video Chris! I have a great shot of you sliding sideways taken from my rear bumper cam just before you blew by me at 7:35... Will be posting a few videos here soon... Quote
cosm3os Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Enzo: I think you were behind me in the Sunday race for about half the race. I was in the black bmw GTS3 car. I had a slide through 9 that I just about gave up on. Got any video? Quote
