skrzastek
Ok, before the start of next season I need to replace my FIA seat (this is year #5) or install a back brace. If I go the route of using a back brace, does it have to be bolted to the seat, or just snug against the seat? I read the rules and I cannot see where it specify's either way. National Staff Greg G. Posted October 27, 2009 National Staff Share Posted October 27, 2009 It just has to be snug against the seat, preventing it from moving backward. There are some good braces out there that bolt onto the roll cage that don't weigh much.
old timer
What about cars like a Corvette where the seat is against the rear bulkhead? Backward is one direction my seat will never move.

skrzastek
Does it matter where the back brace is against the seat? The rules do not seem to be very clear in reference to this
kbrew8991
most I've seen done around the sholder area - make sure that attachment "pad" is as big as you can make it
