bmw22 Posted July 16, 2003 Share Posted July 16, 2003 If you installed a five point harness for the driver, and not for the passenger, yopu won't be able to get on track in HPDE 1. Speaking as an instructor, I wouldn't consider getting in a car where I wasn't strapped in as well as the driver. Even if the second 5 point isn't required by the rules, you will have a difficult time finding an instructor to get in the ar with you. Just put yourself in the instuctors shoes. Would you get in a car with 400HP, with a driver you didn't know, that was strapped in much better than you, with the objective of drive very fast, at an increased level of risk, would you get in the car? Thanks for the advice! I'll re-install the std. seat and belt until I'm signed off to "solo". It'll be a more comfortable ride up there anyway. Will you be instructing there? bmw22 Posted July 16, 2003 Share Posted July 16, 2003 I'm not sure what I'll be doing. I am racing this weekend at Gingerman and then 2 weeks later at VIR and the following weekend is Nelson Ledges. I've already decided not to take my racecar to NL, but I will be there in some function or another. If an instructor is needed, I'll instruct, or you may see me out on a corner with flags in my hand.
