Drftwizard
What brakes are you using? 360 challenge or something custom?
JPierce
Brembo Golds with the 4 piston caliper and the steel rotors---not sure what the 360's have---I'll talk to the team manager tomorrow and find out for you for sure---I know they have a couple of 360 challenge car's in the stables and we're stealing the rack/tierods/stuff from them... Ahh ok so they have a 360 donor. Makes sense that is definitely the easiest way to do it.
JPierce
Rear aluminum panel replaces the glass window---nascar bars are welded up---after lunch we paint and the car leaves for 3 days to get the body straightened, then comes back for exhaust...I'm exhausted!!! Drftwizard
Door bars look great. Simple and very strong. Are you guys switching headers or just deleting the cats?
JPierce
Originally I was going to build some inconel stepped headers but time/cost (over $10k) overruled it. There's a company on the east coast that is sending us some stepped racing headers (stainless) and then this weekend I'll build some very simple exhaust---they send a map for the ecu as well... Inconel is pricey! Who are you getting the headers from?
JPierce
It sure is pretty when everything is freshly painted---and then it just goes to hell after that...Now I just need to figure out how to get the drivers door back on! Almost gone---should leave in a few minutes...

JPierce
The body work is done---3 days---that was fast. The headers should be here today (as well as the car). Turns out the 360 suspension is getting put on and the spindles/hubs/brakes are arriving today from Italy---the logistics of this program are a fulltime job! In the meantime, the boxsters in my shop had offspring! I'm not complaining, but why do people wait until January to start their builds when the season opener is in January/February??? JPierce
The batmobile's back---and it's black---headers are getting installed...
JPierce
Anyone need any Ferrari cats---cheap!
JPierce
The flat bottom has to be "flat" and the Ferrari's rear section has fins/channels so Grand-am won't let it fly---even though it's oem...Ours will be flat aluminum with all the holes/drains cut out---a real pain! JPierce
Headers are in---man the bottom is flat!
JPierce
It's outta here!!!! JPierce
Thanks Richard---I know they have a rig and a crew, but I did pass on your info---I'll check again tomorrow with the team manager...it would be nice to get a gig for the show! Cory M
FYI: Someone makes a machined aluminum quick release latch for the left side Safety Solutions net. I don't remember who makes it but it's on a bunch of GrandAM cars. Looks at lot faster and easier to use in the heat of the moment than the stock one in your pics. Good luck!
