Something you might not see every day - #2 piston cracked

So it was an uneventful way to blow a motor during a race in the heat of July 09 at Blackhawk but those who might remember my 1 lap blowing lots of smoke... here are some pics of the end result after tearing apart the stock miata engine:

 

 

 

 

I happened while in the braking zone at the end of the front straight at blackhawk.
