Best deal on a Transponder??

Anyone know of a used one? Do I remember POC having a good deal on them? I bought the 10 meter pole that I am going to mount from my front bumper to mount the Transponder on the end of.....Now I just need the transponder.

The 10 meter pole isn't going to help you since your previous lap will start that much earlier.

What I use is a sling shot device to launch my transponder ahead of my victim as soon as I come out onto the final straight!! Of course this can only be done on the final lap!!

I like your idea better,Eric.

I've been standing up through the sunroof and casting my tranx with a fishing pole on the last lap.

Ain't it great to watch how technology is spurred on by wars and cheating?

Jim, get the hardwired tranx. You don't want to have to remember charging the other type. Also, check out the different sets of rules for mounting it.

This was in an old thread, but worth repeating. The best place to get an AMB transponder is through the Porsche Club. Go to racing and you will find a form to order the transponder. It is about 25 or 50 bucks cheaper than anywhere else. You may have to be a PCA member but I'm sure you can find someone to order for you if you are not. I highly recommend you order the hardwired transponder rather than the rechargable one. I don't think it's on the form, just ask for it when you order. Same price.

Just ordered one from PCA. $275 for the hard-wired. Where do I mount it. I had to remove the 10' pole to get the car in the garage.....
