Dry sump and other classing question.

Why is a dry sump assed +7 points if the motor is not relocated? Dose it really give that much more of a performace advantage on it's own? I know many that take advantage of them and relocate the motors which can play a bit part in performance. But other then Giving your motor better oiling is there enough to really justify that many points for them?

Also on a corvette that has had normal shocks and springs replaced with Coil overs Do you asses all the points for diffrent shocks and coil springs along with the points for the removal or dose a person just take the removal points?

I am assuming it is all of the above. But i wana be sure since my car is kinda right on the edge of going up or down a class

For future reference... it's best to email us with questions like this, since we don't check the forums as frequently as we check our inboxes

if you don't think a mod is worth the points, skip it

Jon i will keep that into consideration. I didn't feel it was needed to be addressed so soon and i didn't wana clutter up your inbox anymore then it probly already gets.

As for skipping it. I probly would but it came as a package deal with the motor i purchased. And i do plan to track the car in the future. and since my last motor failed due to oiling i thought it would be a nice piece of insurance to prevent a future failure.

Thanks for the PM

Guess i could mabey submit my Power and weight to see where i'm classed but it will probly be around where my points add my up to.

410hp and around 3480lbs is 8.487 Granted

3480 is what the car weighed before i put the new motor with the dry sump system so the weight may go up or down a bit. the 410hp is what the motor did with a diffrent intake and such in the other guys car so it may go up or down a bit.
