Water Wetter vs. NAPA Enginkool

Recommended Posts

Since a broken radiator hose or other parts of the cooling system fail sometimes dumping slick anti-freeze on the track causing other problems I have decide to run straight water with a cooling additive. I had only heard of Water Wetter until today. I went up to Advance to get some other stuff and asked if they had WW and they said yes. They only had one bottle so I took it and head down to NAPA to get some other stuff. I asked if they had WW and he said no but they have Enginkool which was basically the same thing so I picked some up. Two things I know are different between the two. First is the size WW comes in a 12oz bottle and Ek comes in a 30 oz can. The other is the price WW is basically $10 a bottle and the Ek is $6.50 a can. I have read that most people use two WW in their cooling system so that $20 more or less. One can of Ek is equaled to 2 1/2 bottles of WW

Enginkool is made by CRC which makes good products. So if you want to save about $14 you might want to try the Enginkool.

That is when Fred would come over and do things to the engine to "warm it up"

Is Enginkool a special order item? I went to two NAPA stores in the Knoxville today and they have no idea what this stuff is; it wasn't in the NAPA or CRC catalog.
