matt325
L R caster about 6 camber -2.4 -2.6 Total Toe: 1/16" toe out Rear Camber -1.8 -1.8 Total Toe: 1/8" toe in These are just starting, but based on pretty conventional BMW M3 track settings (which are usually for 17 in. whees) I am going to adjust based on tire temp readings once on the track. BTW, here is a screaming deal on toe plates on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toe-In-Plates_W0QQitemZ170466342080QQcmdZViewItemQQptZRace_Car_Parts?hash=item27b095f4c0#ht_500wt_917 These, as far as I can tell, are exactly like the Longacre ones. I checked my alignment with them right after I got off the rack and it was spot on.
1slowspec3
nice find. but how do i read the inches/cm on tape into degrees ? max caster on plates would be back most setting right?
VaTechM3
don't you need radians or something awesome like that to make the conversion? pi/180? Man that has been a while. I'm sure google can do it for you though
matt325
nice find. but how do i read the inches/cm on tape into degrees ? The length of the toe plates (since you measure ahead of and behind the wheel) The difference between the two measurements The 'atan' function on you calculator total toe (degrees) = atan (difference measured by the tapes / length of the toe plate) There will be a very small error since the wheel diameter is what you really want to base the toe off of. I have simple spreadsheet that handles all the details. I'll be happy to send it to anyone that wants it. max caster on plates would be back most setting right? Yes, I believe that is correct. They are shipped in the max caster position, so unless someone messed around with them before installing, they should already be set.
