hoppps Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 Hello everyone! I'm new the forums, and I am in the process of getting a car for either 944spec or spec miata racing. I live in Georgia, and I saw that there was an event happening at Road Atlanta soon. I wanted to go as a spectator, just so I can see what everyone is racing, and get a feel for things before I start my build. I really just wanted to go and watch some awesome racing, and see some cars and such. So how exactaly can I do this? Or am I even allowed to be at the event since I'm not a racer. Thanks for the help! Quote
kbrew8991 Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 I'd hop over and ask in the Southeast section - but I'm pretty sure all you'll need to do is sign a waiver, might be a small fee at the gate to get in, but otherwise it's easy. I'm sure they'd love to have a perspective new guy out Quote
jimbow Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 Go to www.nasa-se.com, view the supplemental regulations for the event - the spectator fee is probably $10. Review the schedule - if you can stop by Friday, pay the fee, sign the waivers, get the bracelet. Go in and find the miata and 944 guys, introduce yourself. Come early on Saturday and talk to folks, watch the HPDE, TT and race sessions Talk to Jim, Julie, the corvette mafia, the specE30 folks, etc. If you have not started HPDE sit in the classroom sessions. Stay for the saturday festivities. Enjoy yourself, meet as many folks as you can and have FUN! Quote

If you are a NASA member, I think the gate fee is $10, but make sure you show your membership card or they will charge you $20. Keep your wristband on and you get in for the entire weekend. At 5:30PM Saturday, free beer and bar b que with the awards ceremony following. Even though I drive a Mustang, feel free to drop by. Quote
jimbow Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 I forgot - if they do lunch parade laps do them! If they do a track walk instead - do it! I'm sorry I won't be there in June - I'll be there in August though. Quote
