National Staff Jeremy C. Posted June 15, 2010 National Staff Share Posted June 15, 2010 Richmond, CA - The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) is pleased to announce that Honda Performance Development, Inc. (HPD) will offer over $50,000 in cash awards to HPD Honda Challenge competitors at the 5th annual NASA Championship event at Miller Motorsports Park on September 16th-19th, 2010. The award program will apply to all Honda Challenge classes (H1, H2, H3, H4, H5) at the NASA National Championship event. The program will award 1st place with $2000, 2nd place with $1500 and 3rd place with $1000 cash, if there are 10 or more cars in a class. In addition to these cash awards, the 4th through last place finisher in each HPD Honda Challenge class will be eligible for a $500 cash award from the HPD contingency program regardless of class count. That means, any Honda Challenge competitor that simply starts the Championship race is eligible for $500 regardless of finishing position! There are specific requirements for the program which must be followed to collect any contingency awards. Complete details on the HPD NASA Championship contingency program can be found here. (http://www.nasaproracing.com/contingency/2010_HPD_Champs_Contingency_Info.pdf). Honda Performance Development (HPD) became the title sponsor of NASA's Honda Challenge series beginning in 2010. Founded in 1993, and located in Santa Clarita, Calif., HPD is the technical operations center for American Honda's high-performance racing cars and engines. In addition to its grassroots motorsports business, HPD is the single engine supplier to the IZOD IndyCar Series and participates in both the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) and the European-based LeMans Series (LMS) with their engine and chassis lease program. Karl
This is very cool, if I didnt just spend what it would of cost to get there and back to get the car running I would already be signed up. Looking for other ways to fund the trip as I really do want to go.
