Keith
I checked the CCR and it didn't say... When I go to renew my Comp License for 2011, I will need to see my physician to get a checkup. Typically, I have done this in the Jan/Feb timeframe of the given licensing year just because this is how it worked out. Next month, I will be taking my son on his first Boy Scout campout. A condition of participating in the campout is getting a physical and submitting it to the BSA in advance of the campout. Since there is alot of overlap on the medical forms between NASA and the BSA and I am roughly within 6 months of when I would be doing my NASA medical exam, is there any reason that I couldn't get my physician to also do the NASA medical exam at the same time, during the same visit? Thanks in advance.
Frank Corkran
No reason at all. The medical exam date does not have to coincide with the license renewal date. The CCR requires an exam at least every X years, but you're free to get a new one any time. Once you send in the new exam form they will send you a replacement license with updated medical expiration date. Thanks for bringing this up and reminding me that I need to schedule an exam soon. nasaregistrar
And here is another reminder to all.... NASA competition licenses expire 12/31/10. License expiration is calendar year, BUT membership expiration is on 12 month cycles.

Medical examination has date, you must have schedule. However, thanks to know that if we send new exam it will also renewed the license. As my friend will going to schedule her medical exam soon. Members Jim P.
I have to get physicals every year for DOT, FAA, etc. I usually take the NASA med form with me when I go for either of those and get it filled out when I am there and then FAX it to Dave Ho @ 510-277-0657. Dave will send out a new license with the updated date whenever you do that.
mcolangelo2005
Living in the Pacific Northwest, I mostly race with the ICSCC. I recently passed my physical with my doctor filling out the appropriate ICSCC medical forms. I know that the SCCA will accept these forms if I choose to get an SCCA comp license. Does NASA also accept the ICSCC medical forms?
National Staff Greg G. Posted March 30, 2011 National Staff Share Posted March 30, 2011 We prefer the NASA Medical Form as it has items on it that may not be on other organizations forms. The use of another form will require you to sign an additional NASA form (short), and will require the review of your case by the NASA National Medical Director, which may delay your licensing. Either way, there is no reason for you not to fill out the NASA Medical History (Page 2) of the packet.
