wheelpowerracing
So my roll cage is painted and the dash has been modified to fit. Mounted the electrical disconnect safety switch in the passenger vent hole (like I've seen done on other cars at the track) and am ready to modify the wiring. The main battery wire is self explanatory. On the smaller switch contacts (alternator), just interupt the main (large diameter) wire from the alternator to the underhood fuse box?? or use the field wiring method?? If breaking the field wire what is the color and where is the best place to tap in?? The preceding question is for a 1994 Civic (EG). Anyone remember wiring theirs? Karl
I disregard the smaller wires, and run both battery and alternator to one side of the switch and the fuse box to the other
wheelpowerracing
Here is the wiring diagram for my switch: http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/downloads/LAR-45780and45785WiringDiagram.pdf I am assuming I use figure 1 (top diagram) and run the large wire from the post on the alternator to the switch and then back to its original landing point in the underhood fuse box. But wanted to verify. Dont want to ruin a good alternator when I test the switch if I am wrong.
drdisco69
run the large wire from the post on the alternator to the switch and then back to its original landing point in the underhood fuse box. That's the correct way to do it.
wheelpowerracing
Switch installed and works perfectly. My car is now competition legal except for tow hooks and brace for the seat back. Then all I will need is my license and there will be another H2 competitor in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast.
