Thanks for spreading the word! This is the cheapest pre-reg entry fee we've had since ~2005. $30mem/$35non, 60 car maximum. At least 5-6 runs each but hopefully more. Big fast fun course design (see vids on the pre-reg page.) See ya there!

Can anyone do an event like this? Is it different than track days w/NASA ie: instructors, cars going thru tech,............. Never had a chance to do this.

Thanks

Anyone with a drivers license, an entry fee, and a car that passes tech can do it. We have loaner helmets if necessary.

Tech is very much like track day tech. Basically any car that is ok for HPDE is ok for autocross. Although the rollbar rules for convertibles are relaxed by comparison.

Regular autocrosses are non-instructed although we do sometimes have instructors available for novices (and we do separate autocross schools that are instructed, at least once a year.)

It's one at a time against the clock on a short course in a parking lot (not continuous laps like a road course, and not with other cars anywhere nearby.) Top speeds are usually 60ish mph, depending on car and course and driver.

With us in general and at this event particularly, you will get probably twice as many runs as you do with most other groups, you will also enjoy our many years of experience designing big and super fun courses in this same parking lot.

It's a great, cheap, fun way to work on your car control skills in a lower speed environment. And much more challenging than it looks.

Read more about it at the links in the "Resources" section at http://www.nasaracing.net/autox.htm

Oh, it looks like this:

Or this:

Hope to see ya there!

Looks like it is almost filled up..? Am def going to do this, looks like a blast! It says 3 - 20 car heats........ are the cars put in different heats based on drive exp? My car has a full cage, If I have been thru Race and HPDE Tech 1-2yr ago (SP and VIR) then I should be okay right? I ask cause I have to trailer it there don't want to show up and "Sorry" .................. Has been awhile since had it out looks like the cheapest way to get back on track.

Nowhere near filled up yet.

Cars are put in heats based on preference or random assignment.

All the car needs to do is pass this tech, which is basically the same as HPDE tech:

Cool....... also could not find any info on cars w/o windows or if running with windows down like in HPDE is allowed?

Thanks

Looking forward to the event. Been too long since I've knocked down some cones! Looks like we will have a couple "day of" registrations following us down from Lynchburg. Going to be fun.
