DavidH
Has anyone tried these pads? I tried to order Hawk Blues, but they were out of stock. I was told that these are very similar but not as hard on the rotors.
ninetyfourintegra
FWIW, I've been running them for a few years on my 2400# Integra. This season: - 1 set of Hawk HT10 fronts - 1 set of front rotors (Pep Boys $25 specials ) - 4 race weekends (9 races, plus practices, qualifying and a couple of Hyperdrives for my father) - 5 wins - 2 track records I expect to have them last me through one more weekend of racing this season. Trevor57
if they make the dtc pads in your shape, get those. I would take the ht-10 over blues any day.
cbuzz
I have used all three on my 944Spec car and all are good. I think the blues have more initial bite but that is just me. I will be using the HT-10 for the Nationals since that is what is on the car (bought with Hawk certificates from last years Nationals). They do seem to be easy on rotors. I have not experienced any significant rotor wear with any of those pads. Not sure if the DTC is available yet for 944. I got a set from Monty at Bits and Pieces for testing. You should have no issues with the HT-10.
Robbie
DTC 60's and 70's have been available for 924S/944's for at least a year.
Sterling Doc
DTC 70 fronts, and -60 rears are available. I've used them off and on for a couple of years. They have nice bite and modulation, but are expensive, and I've had some separate from the backing plate. Not catastrophically, but I've caught them 1/2 off (fell apart from the backing plate when I took them off). I'm told they now have a mechanical attachment, and are not just glued. It was enough to send me back to my Blue/HP+ F/R combo - which held up to 120 to 45 mph braking (downhill) at Road America T5 last weekend - probably the toughest single braking point we encounter. To answer your question, HT-10's should be fine.
DavidH
Thanks for all of the input. They are ordered now and will be on the car for Nationals, but I really don't intend to use my brakes much That should be easy on the rotors as well... 944-Spec#94
you don't need brakes at miller anyway. Ok there is only one hard braking zone. everything else is flat out.... Flat out that is how we drive!
schwank
my Blue/HP+ F/R combo - which held up to 120 to 45 mph braking (downhill) at Road America T5 last weekend... Interesting. We ran Pagid fronts and HP+ on the rear on our ChumpCar 944 and they felt great. I have been getting some rear lockup in my 44Cup car with Pagids F&R and wondering if it isn't a bit of pad overload on the light rear end. Interesting to know that others are doing this as well.
