[email protected] Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Ok guys I know this sounds really stupid or simple but I really need so help or ideas on how to adjust my stop gas pedal in my track only car. I have installed a maximum manual brake pedal and now I am not able to heel and toe. I have installed pedal covers but the issue is that the gas pedal is much lower than the brake pedal. I am happy with where the brake pedal is set. I just can figure out if I should add material or if I should bend the gas pedal. Anything you guys could come up with would be great Regards Quote
nape Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I bent mine. Unbolt it from the car and put it in a vise so you're bending the metal and not the pivot point. Quote
Grizlbits Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 If it is steel you could try heating it and bending it if it is not too much. If it is a big bend, you may want to cut/weld to avoid stressing the metal with a big bend. Quote
Sidney Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 My car came with a piece of plywood bolted to the accelerator pedal. I added some skateboard tape and it works great for heel/toeing. Sidney CMC2 #64 Quote
Grizlbits Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Why do I hear the sound of dualing banjo's? Quote
Trevor57 Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I just drilled a hole in the stock pedal, and had another piece of steel with a bolt welded to it. So the new "pedal" is height adjustable however you want to tighten the thing down. Quote
Members Jim P. Posted September 8, 2010 Members Posted September 8, 2010 I bent my Mustang pedal - which weakened it - so I welded a flat bar along the back side to box it in and stiffen it. Jim http://www.WildHorsesRacing.com Quote
