Red Tornado Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Holy S&*t what a crazy wreck and now red flag. John H looks like he downshifted or something weird and locked up in front row and sent guy behind him over in to other row. Crazy start to a national championship race. Be thankful we haven't had one of thoses. Seperately some real nice speedcast coverage and announcing. NASA should be watching and learning as a definite step up in quality. Quote
Red Tornado Posted September 26, 2010 Author Posted September 26, 2010 Wow guys were pissed. Look like several easy future NASA recruits. Typical SCCA bs as he described stuff Quote

tacovini Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 I'm extremely pleased to say that we did BOTH standing starts and flying starts at Nationals without incident. Our American Iron racers did an awesome job, and we stressed that importance every driver's meeting. Kudos to you guys & gal! -=- T Quote
timz06 Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 After seeing that I will never race my car in a T1 race. Dangerous, not to mention that Ferarri is crazy fast. Quote
tacovini Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Anyone got a link to see it now so we can all learn from it? Quote
robbodleimages Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 i am hearing the guy broke a half shaft on the start. maybe that is not accurate, but it could explain a lot. Quote

Rob, That is what the Phoenix camp said, but after watching the video I think the 2-3 shift was a 2-1 shift.... I saw a lot of tire smoke, prolly something that you would not see if you broke a half shaft. Quote

robbodleimages Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 If Jeff Gordon can miss that shift with a NASCAR Cup race on the line, one of us sure can. Quote
Red Tornado Posted September 27, 2010 Author Posted September 27, 2010 Second guessing completely as this all happended so quick but guy should have gone outside instead of inside when the car in front throw out anchor. Also shouldn't have thrown the car so hard and far inside as o hit other lane who had nowhere to go. Now of course all this happened in 1/2 a second at most but general rule is if it happens quick go outside away from other cars. Quote
tacovini Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Never would have happened with a standing start. Quote
nape Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Never would have happened with a standing start. I'm really glad you threw some winks out there. Quote
