AJ Hartman Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 car is a 99 mustang running in AI. I get in the car today and the ABS light was on. I haven't touched it in a while and didn't quite get a chance to figure out what the problem is yet. A while ago I was tossing the idea around about getting rid of it but decided to keep it for now. anyone have input on driving with and without it? I know alot of the fox guys do without it. Pros: less weight I can get rid of the abs sensors on the front hubs to make a better brake duct cons: chance of flat spotting tires Quote
laze1 Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 flat spotted tires sux...so fix the ABS and then disable it if you feel the need for special conditions. Quote
kbrew8991 Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 kinda depends on how good the system is - a really really good ABS system can smoke a good driver - and vice versa, a decent driver can easily beat a mediocre ABS setup. you can still flat-spot tires with ABS, its just harder to do Quote
Aardwolf Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 I removed that on my car, 25 less pounds on the drivers side. As mentioned above, ABS systems differ. The model on my car ('88 Corvette) is pretty poor IMO. But the later year stuff works well. Quote
