Renntag
Hello all. Just a thanks in advance for any helpful suggestions. I have a 944 I am planning to use for HPDE and need a set of tires. Size is 245/45/16 and 225/45/16. I have used Kumho victo racers and liked them. I am looking for more of a street tire that will perform well for HPDE. My problem is that I would like to keep the set total under 600$ Thanks again for the help.
GQ
Not sure if the correct sizes are offered, but Falken Azenis, and Kumho MX's are a popular street tire used on the track. I use both at the track and am very happy with their performance and prices.
Renntag
thanks GQ, I will look into those as a possibility. I will be out on the track this coming weekend. Cant wait. Just getting back from bike week in Daytona. Rolling up 95 as I type this. This is working out to be a great month.
cnMax
Hi, I'm very happy with results so far with the Kumho MX. Had my first set this past Sat at the speedway. On my fwd, using 45psi ft/44 rr, after 23 runs, minimal wear even at the heavily weighted ft end. Of course, I first had them shaved to 5/32". This probably helped a lot as I suggest to not use a new set on the track since these Kumhos need higher temps to work best, and they may chunk on full tread depth (not sure though). Very stable tread compound I was told. Good luck. BTW I use the Azenis also, but for autox.
