Miata is SOLD. Wheels and tires are here. Trailer sale thread will be up in a few days.

My TTE legal Miata is officially available for sale (I think it could be an SCCA IT car if you swap the flywheel to stock [it's included]). I also have for sale:

  • one set 15×7 +25, 13 lb each satin black D-Force wheels, used with a set of Nitto NT-01 tires mounted (two weekends and an autocross or two on them)
  • an open deck trailer

I'm asking $8,000 for the Miata. I'm open to reasonable offers.

Overview

I became the third owner of this Miata in the fall of 2006. At that point the car was a daily driver / autocross car in SCCA CSP autocross class. It was extremely competitive and — had I been motivated enough to go to all points events — could have trophied at the regional level or possibly higher for the season. I autocrossed the car from 2006 through 2009 before starting to track it. It has since done about six HPDE events. The car has an Emerald Green Mica body, silver hardtop, and white interior. The previous owner put in a new motor at 100k miles (body now has 140k miles). The car will come with Rota Circuit-8 15″ wheels with fairly used Dunlop Z1 Star Spec tires in 205/50-15. On the CMP scales it weighs 2223 with half a tank of gas and no driver.

The Good:

The car drives and handles great. The car is very predictable and inspires confidence when driving. The transmission shifts well and the engine pulls as well as you would expect a Miata to do. Additionally, the check engine light is still present and functions, but is not lit.

The Bad:

The body is not perfect – the car has lightly contacted tire walls twice. As such, the body has slight dents, but nothing major. The tires on the car need replacement.

Modifications:

Suspension / Brakes:

Tein SS 1-way adjustable coil overs (put on by the previous owner — owner #2)

Bumping this. After reading through some rules I realized the car is TTE (NASA classing) legal as it sits now. I weighed it at the track (CMP) the last time I was there and it came in at 2223 with half a tank of gas and no driver. A lighter exhaust can be fitted as the one on it now is kind of heavy and there are a few other areas it can be lightened up.

I was able to get a 1:56.1 laptime (according to a lap timer on my phone) at CMP when I was there in May (video evidence:

). That weekend a 1:56.1 would have been exactly mid pack for TTE. For reference about my driving skill level, that was my first weekend in HPDE3, so it's not like I've been doing this 20 years.

Also, I'm not planning to split up the parts of this (trailer, wheels & tires, etc) without selling the car first.
