Direct correlation with Hoosier contingency. In 2012 tho, I would like to see the top 1-2 finishers go over the scales at least once p/ weekend and get a once over with their points sheet. There are some sketchy cars

And they will continue to drop.

I go over 10-14 cars per weekend. Volunteers to work impound for TT around race groups and DE? If I drop a session I can make it happen easily.

If there are sketchy cars idle chatter on a forum is useless. Tell me the cars and be ready for the consequences.

I'm with you Jeff, I've been to most events in the SE and you do a great job. I've seen a competitor come up to you, make a specific challange to a specific car, you took care of it immeadiately and professionally.

And you encourage our self-policing, see Mark, Scott, Jason, Morris, etc. they feed on each other to prepare their cars to the limit of the rules.

I've been to a few Mid-South events and because car counts are low they had the scales up and everyone had to go over them. I was amazed how close I was on weight. I thought for sure I'd be pushing 100 over my race weight, it was closer to 40 over. I'll have to watch it and probably need a new reclass from Greg.

Everybody was looking up my car's skirt on Fri night.

If I took pictures they would have been considered car porn.

That was the dummy car you keep on the lift in the shop. The real car was in the back garage

The underground garage? Kind of like the bat cave?

He's got that one garage on the back side of his house... the windows on the garage door are up high and opaque if I remember correctly. Plus, I've never seen that door open... ever

And he even parks wrecked Corvettes in front of the door to distract the vultures like me!

Great thread.

I personally don't know of any sketchy cars, but having functional scales is a good idea.

Heck, there's nothing more I'd like to see than a mobile dyno roll up in March at Rd. Atl.

I've heard some interesting stories about some of the race group cars.

Are you referring to me since I was 0.2 seconds behind your record lap in what is essentially a street car? - (full interior with AC, stereo, carpet, etc.) The trunk is the only thing I have stripped and S2000's don't have much of a trunk. On top of that, I have a 4pt. roll bar back there which more than offsets the trunk lining. If this is in regards to power, shall I post up my video where you leave me on the back straight by a 1/4 mile or maybe even my dyno sheet with 194 whp?

I sure hope you're the one he's refering to. Otherwise you just took the top spot on the bonehead podium.

It wasn't wrecked until you guys got going. It was a street car when you started!

I'll take the bonehead podium. I just won't take any possible backhanded comments

I'd like to see some scales too since I went to nationals and realised I was running at least 50lbs over most of the year!

I don't think anyone could seriously say wynn was running light to achieve those times. Its just hard to get a car bellow 2700lbs (without driver) and be streetable. Mines about 2670lbs ish with half a tank without me and i took a lot more stuff out than last time I saw his car + I have a lightweight hardtop.

Wynn was parked across from me. I looked at his car. It was not light. And only a maniac with unlimited funds can bump up a S2000 without boost.

If you plan on podiuming in 2012 in TT you need to plan on a compliant dyno sheet to provide to me no matter the class. It is a minor expense compared to other prep.

Seems like a session, one with high turnout, will be turned into no notice weight checks.

yea realy at 2850lbs you would need to find around 140HP at the crank per litre naturally aspirated to max out power/weight for TTC let alone TTB and then you will still make 155ft/lbs torque hah
