1966 Ford Mustang Coupe ready to race.

Price: Make offer

This is one of the best vintage race cars you could race or own in your collection. Highly prepared and eye catching. I bought this car as a street driver and converted it into a fully prepared and winning car. It would be easier to tell you what we have not done to the car which is about one or two things. I raced this car primarily in the southeast at tracks from Road Atlanta, Barber Motorsports, Lowes, VIR, etc… Won at all these tracks. No expense was spared when this car was built. The car was able to beat the newer Mustangs, BMW, etc that were in my class.

About the car:

We decided on a 331 stroker engine, Edelbrock Performer heads and intake, 650 Holley, and an electronic ignition. A solid lift cam was also chosen for the high rpm durability and of course that no nonsense sound they produce. It put out 325 rear wheel horsepower and 310 ft. lbs. of torque and was backed by a Tremec TKO 5-speed. A nine inch Ford rear with 4:10 gears put the power on the track. The new engine required them to upgrade the brakes to 13 inch front discs and 12 inch rear discs. Lexan windows, a Kirkey racing seat, Autometer gauges, Griffin aluminum radiator, some Shelby fiberglass parts and a quick steering kit found their way into the little coupe.

Engine was just rebuilt and has a total of 3 weekends on her. Also she only needs regular pump gas of 93 or higher. Race gas is not required.

Please contact me with questions. This car has no rust. This car is obviously not street legal, but if you put headlights you are good to drive it on the street. We have all the wiring and switch ready to go for night racing. As is often customary with race cars, the car was conveyed to me using a bill of sale, and I will convey it using a bill of sale. I absolutely hate to sell this car... but it deserves to go to someone with the time and resources to enjoy it to it's fullest potential. It has been sorted out and is a proven car. Enjoy!
