1998 Mustang Tire rubbing thru left front inner fender?

We HPDE's and my left front tire rubbed a hole in my inner fender and started on the wiring harness behind it. Im just wondering how or where to move it so it wont rub anymore. We re-wrapped it with tape, but everywhere we seem to move it it'll still be in the way. There is just not enough slack in the harness to move it far. Any input and/or pictures would be great.

I had this happen on my car. I was forced to take a little bit of camber out of the front end.. but you could also get a way with putting a wheel spacer in and moving the tire over some to get it away from the wires. i actually at first re routed mine through the hole that is below the brake booster.. it was kind of a bi**h but it worked. This was on my 94. I believe that they are set up the same. it would come back in the big hole behind the stock battery location.

I have found that you can fix everything on a fox body with a few whacks from a really big hammer.

Tie it up against the upper rail or reroute it. If you eat the harness it makes a huge mess and a huge repair.

I routed it around the backside of the strut.

I had that problem with my 99 Cobra, and it is a very common problem anyway. If you can't reroute it, then use some zip ties to pull is back up and out of the way. Some of the more creative folks also riveted a metal plate into the top of their fender liner.

This is a common problem. I had the same problem on my 96 Cobra when I started with the mods. IIRC, there's a bump about 4" square that is lower than the rest of the plastic inner fender to clear some hard parts in there. You can heat it with a heat gun and push that part up and try to keep it up OR you could cut that section out and pop rivet a patch on top that should clear the tire.

You need to pull that inner fender out and make sure your wiring harnesses are pushed up and out of the way. You may need to remove some of the factory wire holders and use zip ties to keep the wires up and out of the way. Rubbing through them will create lots of headaches.
