Any word on plans for TT Annual Tech at the track?

per other threads, replies, emails this is what I know

starting 4pm (ish) Friday there will be one line for race car annuals, and a separate line for TT annuals at the track since we can get through the shorter checklist alot faster.

How late that will run...? When they'll start Sat AM...? Paging Dave/Tech Peeps

Guys..... If it were a problem, I wouldn't have registered Blake as 6X. Let it die. Blake isn't running an entire season of TT, so stop fretting.

There is nothing wrong with 06 either. If it were a problem for the organization, I wouldn't have allowed it on the permanent # list.

Dave, they assigned me some ridiculous high number. I requested 3 & 5 which I use at all my other track days but apparently the tech people didn't get the message. I'm driving a Koenigsegg and also a Porsche GT2.

Very funny Mr. Flatout.

Actually, depending on how many tech people I have, we will have four lines. Race cars needing new logbooks, race cars needing annual renewals, TT annuals and HPDE event tech.

HPDE'ers really should start using outside tech locations to be tech'ed. It's easiest on everybody if you do it before getting to the event. You can use one of the recommended HPDE tech shops, provide your own race prep/performance shop where your car is maintained or if your car is still 100% OEM you can use any ASE certified mechanic or dealership. By my seat of the pants calculations, you should have a good 10000 places in the state of Texas that we would accept an HPDE tech form from.

Well Todd, you can use Norman as a benchmark and me as a moving chicane in TTC. My TTC car won't be ready for the weekend, but I'll be out there in a 944 spec car to pick up any class points I can. I'm new to TT and to Texas (as of a couple months ago), but I've been doing track days since 1999 and road-racing here and there over the past 3 years. I'm looking forward to meeting the NASA community here and getting started with the 2012 season.

Hope to see you at the track!

If all else fails, the track record for that direction is Josh Konkle, Chevy Cobalt SS, 01:51.574

TTA too - I never did get any classing info off those guys nor have we seen them again past that event to be able to really verify what they have on their cars. And I was talking with the TTE record holder at an autox last year and found out that he was timed by hand by the T&S people which isn't accurate nor allowed per the ruleset - too easy to mess up when you're not using the transponder or other automated system to time down to the thousandth. Not his fault, he tried to rent a TX but they were sold out.

With all that in mind I would consider these the "real" TRs for MSR-H for TTA & B, and E as follows:

TTA Ken Orgeron	BMW M3 01:45.149	Jan-10
TTB John Zepeda	Mazda Miata	01:51.355	Jan-10
TTE Sam Miller Mazda Miata	01:52.693	Jan-09

We'll see what you guys run this weekend, if you can beat the above times you'll probably find yourself to be the record holder after the event

I swear I ran a 1:50 flat that weekend. I have a printout somewhere, but it may have been during a de3 session. Oh well, that was on worn out tires. I think I can beat tta time listed on fresher rubber. Only problem is if others can too!

Weather is looking for the weekend! Track records will fall. There's no excuse not to drive fast!

My car is ready! Dynoing tomorrow. Mounting tires. Getting coached. Orienting my brain for the weekend. Ready for the '12 season unlike the last two seasons. Should be a very fun year!!

I'm Sunday only, so how about if I get Gas Head Motorworks to tech inspect me Sunday morning? Will their signature on the form get me the proper stickers?

GHM can do HPDE tech no problem. However, they are not "yet" certified for race tech.
