In PT/TT A-F can the upper and lower radiator core supports be modified in order to fit a larger radiator or re-position it?

Yes, as long as you leave the actual frame and subframe alone.

That is an excellent question. Also how about new holes or blocking existing holes in radiator support.

Yes, as long as you leave the actual frame and subframe alone.

The "lower radiator core support" is welded to the frame and ties the two sides together. Are you referring to this piece as the subframe? Is it ok to modify this piece? Also can a section in the center of the upper support be removed? Thanks.

Rob, photos are always best. Each vehicle application could be different. However, I would say that in general, the radiator support itself is not a part of the frame.

Jeff, I would say the same thing. Also, I would ask what the purpose is for blocking the existing holes or making new holes. If the new holes are to mount a different radiator, then sure. If blocking the existing holes is to make sure that air flows through the radiator, then sure. If making new holes turns out to be some type of air intake modification without taking the +1 point for Air Intake, then no.

The first questions should be, "What is the purpose of the modification? What performance advantage does it give? What "unintended" performance advantages does it give the could be protested under the rule below"

A permitted item cannot be modified to perform either a prohibited function, or the function of an item that would otherwise be assessed points under the modification rules.

The ones I see are to optimize airflow into radiator or oil cooler.
