PIR Wrap Up May 7th

AZ Coupe Jason

Recommended Posts

Well it turned out to be a awesome weekend at PIR, the weather was amazing! The track was great as always. Joe Vaccaro and his crew did a huge improvement to racing this week and informed us it was here to stay. NASA AZ weighed every car after qualifing, and cleared each car before your Qual times were valid. Everyone passes with flying colors I squeeked by at 2629lbs.

We then had a 30 minute Race Darren pulled away at the start but left Vince Vaccaro, Myself, a 318 GTS car and 2 H4 cars duking it out the whole race vince put a fight but had a few spins, According to paul Bloomberg we were the race to watch, I would have loved to seen the video but my camera fell off the mount durning the race so I have excellent footage of the floor board. Scott Brewer in the H4 car creeped by me towards the end of the race by taking the line of a passing AC Cobra, Then I was able to get by the BMW at the same time, needless to say we had a blast. When the race was done we were all guided into a impound area for inspection and protesting, kudos to NASA AZ this was great, then after 30 minutes we had the race Awards assembly, In which Toyo certs were handed out, NASA AZ also Matched with Registration Dollars, and our local and Site Parts distributor Scottsdale Motoring Gave Money that matched Toyo Dollars, So a special Thanks to all of them for everything they do after the awards we were allowed to retrieve our cars and go home.

Sunday being mothers day the 944 Drivers talked and passed on racing Sunday due to family commitments, so no 944s raced sunday.

You have room on your trailer? Man that would be a painful trip in the race kaa... I may do it though.. I will have to see how the finances look.

Did you see all the H4 times from Sunday? We all broke into the 14's. I ran a 1.14.8 on lap 1, so that was with the rolling start. I had some problems after that lap, so we wont talk about the rest.....

Fantastic marketing on Joe V.'s part. If all you AZ drivers follow his lead, that region will grow quickly!

Good for you guys!
