Is it OK to warm-up on "illegal" tires?

I'm testing a new 245 A6 setup in TTA this weekend. I don't want to use that first heat cycle for the Saturday AM non-timed warm-up session. Can I warm up on 255 scrubs?

I have run illegal tires for such as testing, and just tell the TT director to "DQ me this session" and explain the reason

for warm up in the SE, I think a DQ still counts for grid time (or at least used to)

I doubt anyone would notice or care, but just wanted to ask. I have some crappy old Nitto R2s I have as rain tires I could use to warm up if it came down to it.

It would be a DQ and you need to work out your grid spot with your competitors since your spot was gained in an illegal configuration.

Yeah that's the way I see it.

I know for PT, I was told it's strictly illegal to do that.

In our region the warmup doesn't having anything to do with the first timed sessions grid spot. It's still done by class for the 1st session (of the first day), then by time from there on out.

With that in mind, I'm totally complaining about you Brian.

Hmmm... I think I have a wideband I want to return on Monday Mr. Felton said it's OK so long as my in-class competitors don't have an issue with it.

Id protest, but you'd still start in front of me anyway.

For the warm up, I wouldnt have an issue with it. Heck, I did it in practice in October to work the garbage off the rain tires, then again, I was the only one in TTF.

I run illegal tire all the time. I need to inorder to keep up with the other cars that are cheating.
