GMP Performance Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 This is a custom built fuel cell designed by G&W Motorsports, now Synergy Racing, for the front of a Porsche 997. They designed it for a client's project to compete in Daytona 24 hour race. The fuel cell was specially designed for endurance racing with a 3 gallon reserve compartment so I was told it totals 22 Gallons. The cell is housed in an aluminum case with a lid. The lid incorporates an ATL quick fill system. We were told that the fuel cell originally cost $2,200 but that the project was never completed. We acquired the fuel cell at VIR when the one in our Audi S3 racecar had a rip in it. We used it for one race weekend and then proceeded to get a smaller one since we only race in sprint race formats. Actual size: 22 3/4" x 14 3/4" x 16 1/2" $900 http://www.gmpperformance.com/index.cfm?PG=detail&PID=237602 Quote
