Driving suits recommended in HPDE?

I'm in HPDE 3 now and I'm noticing that there are a few (not too many) people wearing driver suits/fire suits. I never really saw this in HPDE 1/2. Is it recommended to wear a driver's suit at this point? Ive been considering getting one but not sure if I really need it.

HPDE3 is somewhat of a catch-all DE group with some regions - everyone from people that just graduated from DE2 with only a handful of weekends under their belt, to people getting ready to race (and prob getting used to that suit), to current racers using DE3 for testing time, to ex-racers using DE3 to get back in the swing of things. So that's probably why you're seeing so many.

 

Not required, but if you've already got the piece of equipment then it doesn't make alot of sense to leave it home or in the trailer. If you feel like you could use a suit out there by all means get one and use it. Don't skimp on safety

In the northeast when it's on the cold side, a lot of people use the driver's suit as an extra layer
