Red Tornado Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 So let me throw idea out early. AI can stick with toyo but go to new toyo slick?? Now that could be alot of fun!!! Quote
mcmmotorsports Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 This is going to be huge for NASA. Can't wait. From Phils Tire Service: Toyo has a scheduled tentative launch date of March 6th for the new Proxes RS1 slick tire. It will be initially available in the following 4 sizes: 245/640R18, 285/650R18, 285/680R18 and 335/710R18. Pricing should be forthcoming this week, along with basic technical guidelines for setup. A separate Toyo contingency will also be announced shortly after product launch.. Quote
Mystic_Cobra Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I guess we'll be sticking with the RA1 in American Iron, then. What cars use those sizes? Quote
Mystic_Cobra Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Seeing the picture was anticlimactic. http://www.toyo.co.uk/tire/pattern/proxes-rs1 Quote

D Algozine Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I hope there is some significant, in depth, real world testing completed, before any switch is considered. And all aspects of a tire change are reviewed. Quote

Members Jay A. Posted February 28, 2012 Members Posted February 28, 2012 Dave and all-- This thing should not have been posted on AI forums. This is about a slick. AI is not a Slick class. So lets not start any rumors or get our boxers all bunched up about this tire please As far as AI is concerned it does not exist. Quote
D Algozine Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 FYI, I'm chilled !! Just pointing out, that it should be reviewed extensively if a change is considered. No opinions, no tech to share, nothing to add... Quote
Aaron B Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Whats that.......some cats got out and need to be rescued Quote
Red Tornado Posted February 29, 2012 Author Posted February 29, 2012 Was kidding about AI although that would be awesome. No was thinking AIX actually and perhaps a little competition for other tires. Will be curious to see price, performance, and contigency. If decent I will give a set a try and be a victim for everyone. It's funny mention any possible rules topic or tire topic and the forum just jumps to life... I have to remeber that for April Fools day Quote

And all aspects of a tire change are reviewed. With only four sizes available, I'm sure it will be a couple years before they can supply all the sizes we need. Maybe GRM or someone can arrange a test. hint, hint.... Quote
