kbrew8991 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Not my car, so please contact him. I can assist with getting the two of you connected if needed, let me know. More info here: http://www.roadraceautox.com/showthread.php?t=38678 I need to sell my RX-8. It is a black 2004 Sport with only 31,000 miles. I put new Continental DWs on it at 26,000 miles. It is in very good condition. Jesse and Karen drove the car last season and hopefully will attest to it's condition. In full disclosure, the car had some work done last year after I ran over a piece of concrete in the road. No paint or suspension work, except for a new replacement lower front lip. Quite a few items were professionally repaired/replaced underneath. Two cross members, a few brackets, and the gas tank were replaced with new Mazda parts at Pearson Mazda in Richmond. The car has been returned to factory stock. The left rear tail light retains some moisture (common on '04 cars from what I hear.) I can get a new one from Mazdaspeed for <$100. I (over) paid $14900 for the car with 24,000 miles in Aug. 2010. I owe $11100. I would like to get as close to that as possible, but would entertain offers that I could afford. I need to come up with $40,000 for my daughter's surgery, so this has to go. Please share her story with anyone you know that might be able to help. United Behind Chelsea Thanks. RX8s are very forgiving and easy to drive quickly, easy on tires brakes and other consumables, enough room to haul all your trackside supplies - perfect for an un-trailered HPDE car. Also can do well in TT class - fits TTD class perfectly with quite a few points to modify it how you wish, and could do well in higher TT classes too with the right mod selection. Could also be a great solid start on a PT racer, esp with the support Mazda puts behind the people that race their cars. Some people will tell you the care and feeding of these cars is a nightmare, but they're grossly overstating things. It's very easy to take care of these cars, just do your normal stuff like regular oil changes and all plus the following: 1.) redline the car at least once after it's warmed up every day you drive it 2.) check the oil every time you add gas 3.) stay on top of keeping the ignition components relatively fresh if the car still has cat(s). Those 3 little extra things is all you need to do to keep the car happy. If I had some spare funds availible I'd snatch this up myself to have a spare TT car for the moment and eventually turn into a PTD car. Quote
