c_reber Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 (edited) 1992 Mazda Miata setup for SPEC Miata Series. Click pictures for larger size. Price Lowered to $5000! I recently found out from an interested party who did some research on my car VIN and found out it is actually a 1992 (my original ad was for a 1990 here: http://www.nasaforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=58199&view=previous ). It was last titled/registered in California. But I don't have a title for the car, I was never given one from previous owner. Here is the original wording from the last ad: 1990 Mazda Miata 125k miles. No rust. NO TITLE - racecar only. Asking $6000 or best offer. Delivery could be negotiated within 500 miles. Don't know much about this car, I purchased it a couple months ago intending to do some DE's with it, then move into SM class racing. Unfortunatly my work schedule changed, and I work every weekend now. I did do one autocross with it (1st in class ). However I never had time to get it on a track. Wish I did, but not this year. From what I know, It last raced in 2008. It should have all modifications to make it legal in in the spec miata class for NASA and scca. Includes both log books. After the autocross, I JUST did an oil change with royal purple, and royal purple filter. Runs great! Rear bumper has a little crack, and as you can see from the pictures there are quite a few small nicks/scratches associated with racing, but body is straight. Sparco Pro2000 Seat. Also includes Kirky aluminum seat. Seatbelts are expired, and will also need a new window net. It also has a hot lap timing system. Just installed a new ACT ZM1-HDR4 clutch kit (6/11)! Any other questions, feel free to ask. I can take more pictures also. Thanks for looking. Recently (7/20) I had the alternator rebuilt because it was squeaking a little bit on startup. Asking price is $5700. Car is located in Las Vegas, delivery is negotiable within 300 miles. Please email me [email protected] with any questions. Click pictures for larger size. rscott61 Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 That cage looks a little odd. Logbooks are no guarantee of compliance, as I found out this spring. Quote
rscott61 Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 I'll withdraw that in that it looks like a modified hard dog cage. Cage teching is more subjective than one would think, though. Quote

Thanks for the reply. Yes, the cage design is a bit different, but it has passed SCCA/NASA tech inspection before (A few years back ). I guess the cage design must be the major turn off for most potential buyers? Maybe its the price... Maybe nobody races SM anymore... Not too sure. Log books are of course no guarantee of compliance in any series, you never know who might tech your car. Or what reason it will not pass inspection. But anyway, thanks for the interest. Chris Quote
