tacovini Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 (edited) OK...time to reflect capture our past champions for AI and AIX, before too many years go by and we don't remember them all. Since I'm the National Director, I think this is one of my basic duties. So, I need your help to solidify these Superheroes. Here's what I know... The very first NASA National Championship race was held on Sept. 17, 2006. That means, there were 6 AI National Champions and 6 AIX National Champions before this year. I know that Robin Burnett won at least one AI championship. I know that Jay Andrew won a couple AI championships. I think that Paul Faessler won an AIX championship. I believe Chris Griswold won 13 of the last 6 AIX championships. ...and I know that Dean Martin and Chris Griswold have won the last 2 AI & AIX championships respectively back to back in 2010 & 2011. So....help me fill in the blanks. 2006 AI- Jason Andrew? AIX------- 2007 AI- Jason Andrew? AIX------- 2008 AI -Robin Burnett AIX------- 2009 AI- Ross Murray AIX------- 2010 AI- Dean Martin AIX - Chris Griswold 2011 AI- Dean Martin AIX - Chris Griswold Have I missed anyone??? JWL??? L'il confirmation help here??? Edited August 30, 2012 by Guest Quote

Red Tornado Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Your correct with all the AI. AIX I think Ernesto won a few but lost a few early ones also to Chris Thanks for not including the 1st loser list. Robin got his win after back to back runner ups. Only one to do it after runner up. Biggest heartbreak Dean last turns at MMP crashing. Mark Luna and his breather cap Biggest lecture Everyone passing under yellow flag and then trying to recoup spots and doing dual start effort after it all. Was a fun group conversation Quote
Grizlbits Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 AIX was 2006 Roco 2007 Griswold 2008 Faessler 2009-2011 Griswold Prediction aix: 2012 Faessler -1.26.1 in TTR last month, he's on a mission. ai: Martin - Cobbetto - TJ: Toss up, but that is my ai podium. Quote

According to the current entry list, Faessler isn't signed up for aix?? Some goofy things have been going on with the entry list lately so who knows...???? Ed Quote

The 1.26.1 was with a passenger. (and she loved every second!!!) I see a low 1.25 lap if no one gets in his way!! Quote
Red Tornado Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 He isn't on entry list now but was. The list changes so doesn't show Dean running either now Quote
Racer91m Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 2009. Yeah good memories... Three corners to go and on cruise control. Damn rain on the backside of the track. Damn Rocco dropping oil. Damn driver turning in too early and getting on the throttle. Damn ditch in front of the exit curbing. Damn Murray for hitting me. Damn wall for being there. Damn stupid driver! In case you missed it, here's the in-car.... I got it... I got it... Bam... I don't got it... BAAAM! Quote
