2V 4.6 ECU connection to data acquisition device?

I'm seeing that the AIM and the race-keeper have ECU connectors for the 95+ Mustang ECU.

I don't see that any of them have connectors for the ECU for my 2V 4.6 (2001 Mustang).

Anyone doing data acquisition from the ECU for that vintage of car?

Thank you for any tips.

I'm about 99% sure it just plugs into the OBDII port under the dash (thats if you get the SOLO DL) and it will only give you the parameters that the factory computer gives you. RPM, engine temp, intake temp, etc. The regular SOLO is a stand alone system and doesn't hook into the computer at all but still gives you all the GPS based data. Now if you wanted to get really crazy you can get the MXL and the sky is the limit with that thing.

I briefly looked into this last year for my 2004 Mustang GT, and I was told that the CAN bus harness from the 2005+ Mustang was needed, and it would not work with my 2004 Mustang, even though I have OBD2 and EECV. But, like I said, I only briefly looked into it, so you might want to directly contact the various data acquisition manufacturers.

I did call AIM and Traqmate and neither were very encouraging about being able to pull meaningful data from an ECU of this vintage.

So as far as I can tell, the options are

1. Use the standard ECU connector for AIM, Traqmate or some other manufacturer and see what I get (data and polling rate) ($$-$$$$)

2. Use a datalogger from AIM, race-keeper or some other manufacturer and use analog instrumentation for the functions I care about (RPM, selected gear, braking, throttle position) along with the "in-box" gps and accelerometer ($$$$$$$)

3. Forget about this for now and continue to use Harry's LapTimer which I paid about $10 for and use the money for seat time and sorting the car.

I'm leaning toward 3 right now.
