Lexan on E46 M3

I'm researching various weight reducing parts for my e46 M3. I see that many folks with E46 race cars are putting in Lexan windows, and I assume it's mainly for weight savings. I've found a few folks that make the lexan windows (like MA Shaw), but am having a hard time finding a breakdown of weight savings for the front, front sides, rear side 1/4's, and rear windows.

Does anyone here have info on the amount of weight saved by converting to lexan, either for one or multiple windows?

Also, in race M3's, are the side windows being eliminated completely, or is it a swap to lexan that still rolls down into the door?

My main reason for asking is that I can only afford to do so much at once, and I'm trying to make a list that will help me prioritize based on amount of weight saved, and cost.

Racing Shields is an excellent source for Lexan. Here is their comparison with glass - http://www.racingshields.com/polyvsglass/polyvsglass.htm

If you can find the specs for your OEM glass, lexan should be about 50% lighter. To me, it was relatively easy weight to get out of the top half of the car...

Try contacting MA Shaw or Plastics for Performance directly for their lexan specs. P4P has glass in 3-4 different thicknesses too.

Thanks!
