I agree with the wireless amendment to the declaration form. On another subject, weren't all these rule change discussions supposed to be closed Nov 25th ? As the changes or Non changes should be announced in the next week!!!

These are closed, as far as I'm concerned (the wireless suggestion above notwithstanding). We are due to release the new rules this weekend, if all goes as planned.

FYI, we are going to add this to the TT, PT, and ST Rules. You might want to consider it for GTS.

Any hardware that allows a competitor to wirelessly connect to the ECU at any time during competition or post-competition impound is strictly prohibited, regardless of whether such hardware is external or internal to the ECU.

Connect to what specifically? Some of the wireless functionality of these ECUs is connection to the sensors. It has nothing to do with connecting to an external computer. Do we ask the competitor to use only wired sensors, etc. and remove the wireless antennae? It's an important clarification....

FWIW I don't have an adjustable ECU but many of my competitors do....

JR. The intent of the rule is to prevent wireless devices from changing the ECU for variable tuning to defeat pwr/wgt verification.

Ex. a crew member sitting next to the pit wall with a laptop changing maps when the car comes off track.

An oil pressure sensor connecting wirelessly is not the intent. That said, if the sensor were adjusting the tuning in such a way that it changed maps or tune (like the oft discussed front wheel speed sensor) it would be frowned upon most 'frowningly.'

BTW for our edification, which system uses this? With all the potential EM interference I would worry that something critical would fail at the most inopportune moment.

Which Pectel? I have an SQ6 and wasn't aware there could be wireless sensors.
