R13 Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 I went on the internet and I found this: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=25420&hilit=individual+throttle+bodies and this (probably out-of-date): viewtopic.php?f=2&t=23532&p=175097&hilit=individual+throttle+bodies#p175097 and this: 3) Aftermarket computer system (any non-BTM “stand-alone” or “piggyback”):+3 naturally aspirated, +10 forced induction4) Modification of the OEM air intake/box, air filter location, air piping to the turbo/supercharger/intercooler/throttlebody/carburetor, or hood/fascia/fender air inlet(s), outlets, or vents +1 (air filter upgrade alone—0 pts.)5) Non-BTM, deleted, or modified/ported throttle body +2; independent throttle bodies +46) Non-BTM or modified carburetor, fuel rail, fuel injectors, fuel pump(s), and/or fuel pressure regulator +2 (no points forfuel pump alone if using BTM fuel and timing maps, sensor inputs and ignition timing)7) Non-BTM, modified/ported, or deleted intake manifold:4 cyl. +1, 6cyl. +2, 8 cyl. +3, 12A & 13B rotary +2, all other rotary +3 So ITBs with fuel rails, on a V6, with a stand-alone ECU: +3 for computer on NA car +1 for airbox +4 for ITBs +2 for fuel rails +2 for manifold delete/change. +12 total? Or does the +4 for the ITB assume the airbox and manifold items and then add a point? *(That would seem logical...and be +9 for the package.) Also (somewhat separately): Socketing and "chipping" the stock ECU (no separate unit, like a reflash, but changing the physical chip in the module): I assume that's covered under the "piggy-back" blanket right? so +3 for NA as opposed to a free reflash. Thanks. Just trying to decide what to ask Santa for . Quote

TurboShortBus Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 So ITBs with fuel rails, on a V6, with a stand-alone ECU: +3 for computer on NA car +1 for airbox +4 for ITBs +2 for fuel rails +2 for manifold delete/change. +12 total? As written, yes. There are no assumptions. Specific exceptions for combinations are noted. A dyno re-class.^^^ This. How much of a power improvement per point spent or per dollar spent are you expecting? Almost always, points are better spent on upgrading tire compound. Mark Quote
ILIKETODRIVE Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 A dyno re-class. Almost always, points are better spent on upgrading tire compound. /\ These. Quote
