Mighty M Gaming Super Special to be part of the International Rally New York

Rally New York, Ltd., the promoter of the International Rally New York to be held from September 29 to October 1, 2005, and Empire Resorts, the operator of Mighty M Gaming at Monticello Raceway, have concluded a multi-year agreement to conduct Mighty M Gaming Super Special stage at Monticello Raceway as part of all future Rally New York events.

Rally teams will come to Monticello Raceway on Friday, September 30 in the afternoon for the first two Super Special stages and will return for two more runs in the evening under the lights. The International Rally New York will end with the last Super Special stage and Ceremonial Finish at Monticello Raceway on Saturday night, October 1.

Monticello Raceway is a beautiful, modern facility with all indoor seating for rally spectators. During the International Rally New York, rally spectators will be able to enjoy various kinds of entertainment and dining offered by Mighty M Gaming at Monticello Raceway.

This may be for the first time in history when a US rally promoter has been able to conclude an agreement that assures the future availability of a venue for many years to come instead of going through an annual approval process. This agreement will serve as an excellent basis for the future development of the International Rally New York into a major international event.

Good deal, Ivan. Will they be betting on us? The inside tip is that I will do very crappily on a race track super special; why change the histirical trend?

Seriously, please give some thought to the layout; I am sure the track is a good all weather surface, but all the quarries and other race tracks on which we have had special stages run into trouble when it is raining hard and the stage is run outside of the main track surface. Like BRS a couple of years back; 2WD cars could not complete the course when it got out in the woods.

Thanks,

Mark B.

Mark,

Good deal, Ivan. Will they be betting on us?

Only unofficially.

The inside tip is that I will do very crappily on a race track super special; why change the histirical trend?

Why so? There is nothing really super special about driving a

Super Special. Besides, in the great scheme of things, a Super Special

is very important for PR and for spectators, particularly inexperienced

ones (we took such a friend with us to Finland and she still cannot get

over seeing their Super Special), but it has a very little effect on the

overall results of a two-day event.

Seriously, please give some thought to the layout;

Believe me, a lot of thought went into this already.

I am sure the track is a good all weather surface, but all the quarries and other race tracks on which we have had special stages run into trouble when it is raining hard and the stage is run outside of the main track surface.

There will be nothing like that. We will be running on the tarmac apron

parellel to the grandstands, make a right, cross the race track racing

surface, go around on the inside dirt service oval, and make another

right hand turn to cross the racing surface back on tarmac. We were

offered to continue on a multitude of paved roads in the complex after

that and we may do it in the future. If you can come this Sunday

to the Rallycross at the Raceway or if you can make the Rallysprint

on August 27, you can see the course.

Like BRS a couple of years back;

If I may say so, I think it has been proven conclusively that this

is different from BRS.

2WD cars could not complete the course when it got out in the woods.

We have been out of the woods long enough....

Thanks,

Mark B.

With best regards,

Very good, Ivan. It sounds very much like good thought has been given to the course, so all sounds good. Yes, the Super Special is good for fans; the horse track set-up used at the Quebec rally in the past was the best I have seen so far, and has drawn a few thousand spectators, and was actually fun to run (even as a co-driver). We'll see what we can do to make an event up there soon!

Regards as always,

Mark B.

Yes, Olga and I raced there too. It was very good.

and has drawn a few thousand spectators,

I just returned from a meeting with the top brass at the Raceway.

We are going to have lights both Friday night and Saturday night.

They are also running their own extensive marketing and publicity

campaign and they expect to have 7,000 people at the Raceway on Saturday night.

and was actually fun to run (even as a co-driver). We'll see what we can do to make an event up there soon!

Let us hope it works as intended.
