Southern Spec Z Shootout presented by Nissan

The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) is pleased to announce the Southern Spec Z Shootout at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, AL. In conjunction with the Mid-South Region event on February, 15&16 2014, all Spec Z racers are invited to join in this early season race. Shawn Taylor, Regional Director, says “This will be a marquee event for NASA in the South and hosting the Spec Z Shootout only proves that.”

Nissan has graciously offered full regional contingency for each day provided 10 Spec Zs participate, as well as, a Nismo jacket to the Champion. To qualify for the awards, drivers must be a registered member of the Nissan Motorsports Racer support program with all required vehicle logos and driver suit patches. In addition, Z1 Motorsports is offering store credit in the amounts of $200 for 1st, $100 for 2nd, and $50 for 3rd. Team Pelle is also giving away a differential cooler to the highest finishing non-Team Pelle car. And as always, the BFGoodrich contingency is in effect.

The event will be run in the NASA Championships style format with the Shootout champion decided on Sunday afternoon. A handful of Spec Z racers have already committed to the event, do you have the mettle to come take on this challenge? Registration is now open.

Barber Motorsports Park is a 740 acre multi-purpose racing facility located on the eastern fringes of Birmingham, Alabama. It was built by George Barber, and includes the Barber Vintage Motorsport Museum. The park, which opened in 2003, has a 16-turn, 2.38-mile (3.83 km) road course, designed by Alan Wilson, viewable from several naturally wooded or grass-covered banks. The track has hosted numerous motorsport races including IndyCar, Grand-Am, Vintage Racing Series events, and AMA Superbike. www.barbermotorsports.com

I have a question....

Will Spec Z be running in Thunder for this event, or can we run in lightning with our own start group?

thanks!

I will have that information once we're closer to the event.
