elirentz Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Moving west and need to sell my 88 944. Salvage title because of damage to the rear quarter panel but the frame is straight. Runs and drives great. Would make a great racecar or donor for a racecar. Asking $700 Pros: -I tested the compression and the motor is amazingly fresh all cylinders measured ~189 psi +/- 2 psi Shocked (I actually checked with two testers since I couldn't believe it was that high the first time around) -Recently replaced the timing and balance shaft belts along with the new style water pump, plugs/ wires, distributor cap and rotor, and valve cover gasket. Less than 100 miles ago. -Battery is about a year old -I have a straight driver's side fender yet to be put on along with an extra lower front valence and rear spoiler -I replaced the oil pressure valve with a new one (I found the old one was broken when I replaced the oil cooler seals) -It has turbo phone dial wheels and larger diameter front sway bar -Trans shifts smoothly (except 2nd can be a little notchy when its cold but fine when warm) -I also have an extra driver's front shock/ spring since it has a 951 koni there from when I bought it. -Motor mounts replaced when I got it ---- Cons: -Salvage title - Interior isn't in great shape - Odometer doesn't work -Tach reads wrong rpm (seems like a signal issue since it isn't just offset the same across the range) -Driver's side lock is different key and the lock part is disconnected since I just replaced the door handle so I could open the door. -No radio -Needs some electrical work for the mirrors, sunroof, and door locks to function consistently (I've had them all work occasionally) -The front valence, blinkers/ fogs are off the car since I had to replace the front bumper and passenger fender from a light fender bender I had a few years back. -There's a rattle in the after-market muffler where some welds have broken loose ----- Quote
elirentz Posted November 6, 2013 Author Posted November 6, 2013 I'm willing to take offers. I can sell it to the junkyard for $500 but I'd much rather see someone actually use the motor since it makes such good compression and I just put all the new parts on it. Quote
rcarpen22 Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I tried to send you a pm, but I don't think it worked. I'll take it (for the $500 price) if I can pick it up over the Christmas week sometime. Will go ahead and pay for it, just can't come get it right away. Thanks Quote

elirentz Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 Hey sorry I've been busy packing/ driving across the country for the last week. The car has been sold to a friend. It was the night before I left so I didn't get a chance to update the thread yet. My appologies. Quote
